I purchased this bike in Jan 2017.The bike is new standard to me and i have put 100 mile on it. I am waiting for the weather to warm up.The little bit that i was able to ride seemed like a dream. Im not into the Lance riders and want to just have fun.I read about the seat being uncomfortable, my take on it is that i will have to wait and see.I am happy with the purchase and would recommend it to someone that likes to ride for fun and distance.Thumbs up to Trek for making bikes fun to ride again.

I have a Trek 4300 and wanted something that I could use that was lighter and so I could ride longer distances. I started riding it 5 mi/day, then extended it to 10mi/day and about 15 mi/day over the weekends, in all about 75 - 90 mi/week on paved trails. I think the bike feels good overall, but the gears are terrible. I've taken it to have it adjusted and it did not improve one bit, I had to adapt to make it work. Good buy if you want to ride it for short/intermediate distances (10 - 40 miles), I did get a Selle Royal Respiro Soft Athletic saddle and that makes a huge difference.
